Interest Type
An interest in the structure of buildings is beneficial. Knowledge and understanding of various mechanical theories are required, as well as spatial judgment skills to interpret facility wiring diagrams and design drawings to identify the characteristics of building facilities. As students also learn construction and surveying, proficiency in using hand tools and knowledge related to machinery, along with meticulousness, are necessary.
Currently, construction technology is rapidly diversifying, advancing, becoming more information-based, and globalizing. In the future, it will be important to train professionals who can respond to these changing environments by integrating environmental and system elements into buildings to enhance comfort, efficiency, and building performance.
Construction quality control inspector, construction materials testing technician, urban planner and designer, urban and transportation design specialist, environmental consultant

Fundamentals of Construction Design
Learn the general principles of civil engineering drafting required for designing construction structures, identify various tools needed for civil drafting, and acquire skills for drawing construction structures.
Practical Construction Methods
Acquire theoretical knowledge and technical skills regarding on-site construction methods and management for earthworks, concrete work, foundation engineering, retaining walls, tunnels, and dam construction, based on planning, design, construction, and management methods in civil engineering projects.
Hydraulics
Understand the characteristics of water flow, learn methods for measuring flow in devices such as weirs, pipes, and open channels, and study the water cycle processes including precipitation, evaporation, infiltration, and runoff.
Surveying
As the most fundamental discipline in construction, surveying teaches how to determine the relative positions of points on the earth's surface, create maps, and measure areas and volumes, as well as various surveying techniques required at construction sites.
Soil Mechanics
Study the basic properties of soil, soil composition, classification, compaction, permeability and seepage, effective stress, stresses in the ground, consolidation, and shear strength.
Related Subjects
Corporations and Industries
Construction companies, construction project and facility management companies, design engineering firms, structural safety inspection companies, specialized technical construction companies
Government and Public Institutions
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, technical (architecture) civil servant positions in central and local governments, Korea Construction Management Corporation, Korea Housing Management Corporation, and other public institutions
Design Drawing Notebook
Regularly draw blueprints for construction designs. By finding various drawings online and sketching them yourself, you can improve your understanding of blueprints and spatial perception.
Observation of Structural Images
Collect and observe images of construction structures such as power plants, bridges, roads, ports, railways, water supply and sewage systems, subways, tunnels, airports, large industrial complexes, and environmental facilities.
