Incheon Campus Of Korea Polytechnic Ⅱ
Korea Polytechnics II Incheon Campus is known as “the heart of Korean industrial technology and the cradle of practical engineers.” Established in 1968 as the Central Vocational Training Institute, it is now the central campus of Korea Polytechnics and the largest among all Polytechnics nationwide, representing a leading engineering-specialized university. Located in the heart of Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, adjacent to advanced industrial complexes, it has built a reputation as a site for hands-on education and innovative industry-academia cooperation. With a tradition spanning over 50 years, this campus has grown alongside Korea’s industrial development and has a distinct identity as a university that “captures both employment and technical skills.” The university’s unique strength lies in its ‘field-oriented technical education.’ It offers a variety of tracks—including two-year, four-year (advanced major), and short-term vocational training programs—covering core technologies required in Korea’s manufacturing and engineering sectors such as Mold Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Information & Communication Engineering. In particular, the Mold and Mechatronics fields boast the nation’s top-level training equipment and curriculum, and numerous industry-academia cooperation projects are conducted with major manufacturing companies in Incheon and Gyeonggi. The on-campus Industry-Academia Cooperation Center and Job Cafe (Career Development Center) support students in gaining real-world experience through collaboration with companies even before graduation. The campus boasts one of the highest employment rates at large-scale companies and practical certification acquisition rates nationwide, making “graduation = employment” a proud reality. Above all, the curriculum is actively revised to respond swiftly to technological changes, and the campus is continuously selected for various government advanced technology workforce development projects. The influence of Korea Polytechnics II Incheon Campus can be seen in its alumni. From public figures in popular culture such as singer Hwang Chi-yeul, comedians Jung Jae-yeol and Han Seung-hoon, and actor Hwang Deok-jae, to KartRider pro-gamer Park In-soo, master of architectural facilities Park Jin-gwan, and numerous local government politicians, graduates are active as “practical experts” in diverse fields. All of them are talents who have embodied the university’s educational philosophy of “contributing to the world through technology.” Countless industry professionals produced by the university play pivotal roles in companies, research institutes, and public organizations, and the trust and network associated with being a Polytechnics graduate are widely recognized throughout the industry. The university’s long history, social trust, and competency-based alumni network are its greatest assets. For international students, Incheon Campus provides a highly supportive environment. Among campus scholarships, the President’s Scholarship offers full tuition exemption for two years to outstanding applicants, and various other financial supports such as merit-based scholarships are available. Dormitories are offered at reasonable rates, with single rooms (about 140,000 KRW per month) and triple rooms (about 100,000 KRW per month), and the campus is well-equipped with student cafeterias, convenience stores, libraries, and the Job Cafe, providing excellent living and learning infrastructure. Dedicated counseling for international students, Korean language education, and employment-linked programs are in place to support practical settlement and career development. English-taught courses and internationalization programs are gradually expanding, and a global environment is being fostered where students of various nationalities learn together. (Official confirmation is needed regarding IEQAS certification.) The campus is located in downtown Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, offering excellent public transportation access, and is surrounded by large industrial complexes and high-tech companies, providing abundant opportunities for field training and internships. With a comfortable student center, various clubs and sports facilities, and modern dormitories, the campus offers a living environment where international students can easily adapt. “If you want to grow into a practical talent opening the future at the center of Korean industrial technology,” Korea Polytechnics II Incheon Campus will be the best choice.
