Korea University of Technology and Education (KOREATECH) is a national university located in Byeongcheon-myeon, Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, in a nature-friendly environment. The university proudly upholds a clear identity of “cultivating practice-oriented engineering talent.” Since its establishment in 1991, despite its short history, KOREATECH has built a unique presence both domestically and internationally through its practical education system and innovative educational infrastructure that lead the Korean industrial field. The reputation that “KOREATECH graduates excel in the workplace” is a defining phrase for the university and symbolizes its status as a cradle of practice-based education. KOREATECH’s greatest strength lies in “producing talent that can be immediately deployed in real industrial settings.” From 2009 to 2022, it ranked first for 14 consecutive years as an “excellent education-centered university” in the JoongAng Ilbo University Rankings, and in 2023, it surpassed prestigious institutions such as Seoul National University and Yonsei University to claim the top spot as “the best university for student education.” It has achieved national first place in various key indicators such as education expenditure per tuition, dormitory accommodation rate, entrepreneurship education ratio, and student participation in field training. In particular, KOREATECH’s remarkable achievements in industry, research, and education have led to its reputation as “a university with excellent output relative to input.” For international students, KOREATECH offers strong competitiveness. It has obtained IEQAS (International Education Quality Assurance System) certification from the Korean government, and students who meet certain language requirements—such as TOPIK Level 4 or above, or a TOEIC score of 700—are eligible for admission and scholarships. International students benefit from a variety of scholarship programs, including a 50% reduction in tuition, full scholarships and dormitory fee support for outstanding students, among others.
