Yeungjin University
Yeungjin College is a leading private vocational college representing the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions of South Korea. Since its establishment in 1977, it has been a pioneer in the innovation of “Order-based Education.” True to its identity as a “university that grows together with industry,” Yeungjin College has set the standard for industry-academia cooperation across all universities in Korea and has established a model for practical, hands-on education. With its main campus (Bokhyeon Campus) in Buk-gu, Daegu, the Global Campus in Chilgok, Gyeongbuk, and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk English Village, it is one of the largest vocational colleges in the country, where over 10,000 students are shaping their futures. Yeungjin College’s greatest strength lies in its customized education system directly connected to industry sites. It offers two- to four-year, practice-oriented curricula in advanced fields such as IT, semiconductors, AI, and drones. In particular, the Computer Information, Semiconductor Electronics, and AI Computer Security departments boast the nation’s highest employment rates. “Order-based Education” is a system that anticipates corporate demand and trains students accordingly, achieving the number one nationwide vocational college employment rate for seven consecutive years (among colleges with over 3,000 graduates, Ministry of Education announcements from 2017 to 2023). In 2023 alone, more than 100 students secured overseas employment, with a cumulative total of 646 students working abroad over the past six years, especially excelling in nurturing global talent in the semiconductor and ICT sectors. Continuous selection for government industry-academia cooperation and vocational education projects such as LINC 3.0 and HiVE in 2022, as well as being ranked first for 12 consecutive years as “Korea’s Most Respected University” (vocational college category), are among the many awards and certifications that support these achievements. Historically, Yeungjin College was the first in Korea to introduce “Order-based Education,” breaking down the barriers between industry and university education and serving as a symbolic institution of innovation. This model has spread nationwide, laying the foundation for today’s industry-academia cooperation education system. Alumni include notable figures in culture and sports such as cheerleader Kwon So-young, singer Iota, Miss Korea Seo Eun-jin, and footballer Lee Min-a, as well as graduates active in politics, administration, business, and various other fields. In particular, the college has produced many influential leaders in society, including entrepreneurs and politicians who have contributed to regional industrial development. For international students, Yeungjin College is a highly attractive choice. As a university certified by the Ministry of Education’s International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS), students can receive additional points in visa issuance and scholarship screening. As of 2023, more than 500 international students are enrolled, with students from various countries such as Russia, China, Japan, and Eastern Europe actively participating in language exchange programs like the Global Zone. Mileage scholarships are provided for Global Zone activities, and some courses are offered in multiple languages such as English and Chinese, as well as other global subjects. There is a wide range of financial support, including the recruitment of government-invited scholars (GKS), customized international student scholarship systems, and a 50–100% tuition reduction upon admission. The college operates a systematic support system for international students, including state-of-the-art on-campus dormitories (with priority for freshmen), dedicated counseling, Korean language education, and employment linkage. The campuses are conveniently located in the heart of Daegu and near the Gyeongbuk industrial complex, offering both easy transportation (bus, subway, school bus) and a pleasant living environment. Various facilities such as libraries, gyms, and start-up support centers are also well equipped. Yeungjin College offers the optimal opportunity for students who wish to develop both “practical skills” and a “global mindset.” Here, growing alongside the forefront of Korean industry, you can take your future to the next level.
