How are the countless buildings we see every day constructed? Architectural Engineering is a department where students comprehensively learn the engineering and social fields necessary to create various types of buildings and spaces used by people. In the Department of Architectural Engineering, students acquire engineering knowledge (such as structural engineering, construction, environment, facilities, and materials) as well as basic knowledge for planning architectural spaces (such as architectural planning and design). The department aims to foster architectural engineers and experts who have the ability to comprehensively perform complex and diverse tasks, from space planning and design, selection of building materials, to actual construction, all of which are required to create various types of buildings.

If you are interested in the various buildings commonly seen around you, or if you enjoy photography or drawing, it will be helpful when learning subjects such as architectural planning and design. Architectural Engineering requires a lot of mathematical and physical knowledge, such as structural mechanics, materials engineering, and various tests, so being good at subjects like mathematics, physics, or chemistry at school will be beneficial. Specialized PC programs such as Auto CAD, 3D Max, SketchUp, and Revit are frequently used for architectural design or structural analysis, so being comfortable with computers and not afraid to use new programs will be helpful.
Architectural Engineering is a field where you learn the technologies and methods necessary for creating various types and uses of buildings, such as houses, apartments, schools, offices, and sports stadiums, which are commonly seen around us. Recently, the field has expanded to cover convergent topics related to architecture, such as economics, management, and construction IT. In contrast, the Department of Architecture covers not only engineering knowledge but also broader cultural and social fields, including human culture and history, art history, and philosophy.

Architectural Structural Systems
Learn about the types and roles of structural systems and loads in buildings, the characteristics of each structural system, and basic design methods.
Building Materials Science
Study the properties of various materials used in building structural members and finishes, as well as the required performance criteria for these materials to be used in construction.
Building Construction
Learn about the sequence of construction, construction methods, and management techniques necessary to realize buildings, with knowledge reinforced through field practice and site visits.
Steel Structure Design
Study the material properties and behavior of steel structural members, methods of connecting structural components, and gain a comprehensive understanding of steel structures and their design approaches.
Architectural Design
Aimed at developing basic architectural knowledge and the ability to draft detailed architectural drawings, this course focuses on learning the principles behind architectural drawing, especially for major structural and non-structural components, and cultivating the ability to apply these principles.
